If you’re new to Magento and are struggling to work out where everything is, one of the first things you’ll want to be doing on a fresh install is to reindex Magento’s data. Here’s how to do it:
From the ‘System’ Menu, locate ‘Index Management’ (see image below):

When you reach the Index Management page there are 2 things you want to do:
1: ‘Select All’ of Magento’s Indexes
2: ‘Submit’ for reindexing
